Life’s Made Up Of… … …

Just received an email from my Superior, next Monday will be conducting an appraisal with me for the first quarter. Been in this new job for 3 months.

.

3 months ago when i came for interview, i was told that, i will be given a chance to learn but i cant take forever to try, and so, when i accepted this offer as a Recruitment Consultant, i secretly told myself. Ok, I have 3 months to try. I need to learn new things and adapt to the new envt and build up my own legal sector. Its honey-moon period for the first 3 months, and i can give myself tonnes of reasons and excuses for not doing well. But 3rd month ending soon… Appraisal next week, i start to feel the stress now.

I dun not know if im suitable for this job, neither do i noe if im taking far too long to swing into this job, but i noe im trying.

WHOA WHOA WHOA….. Its the 3rd week of June already!!! Time flies…No?

Lets talk abt work…

I have yet to cross my target for this crucial month, hmmm… another $3500 at least  to cross my line? Wa… nvm, jia you jia you!!!

Yesterday followed up with one of the clients. Generally a very nice HR that i’ve met, approachable, humourous, a bit aunty aunty! This is our telephone conversation:

Me: Hello! Ms. XXX (Very enthu and high pitch voice)

Me: Wa, whr did u go? Have been looking for you for days man!

HR: Wahaha! Aiyooooo.. I told you already WHAT, leave me voice

       me LAH, then i call u MA… U nv leave means its not my fault,

       your fault LOH… WAHAHaha

Me: Anyway, can you let me know what openings u have for now?

HR: Corp Sec.

Me: Only Corp. Sec. ? Wat abt Litigation?

HR: Dun Want

Me: Corporate lahhh??? (Hoping she will need one…)

HR: Dun want

Me: Oh, admin leh??? (Still hoping)

HR: Dun want

Me: Receptionist??? (Keep suggesting)

HR: WHA… You hor… You thot what, i very rich ah, keep paying

      you, and y u keep cursing my firm for high turn over rate! U

      hor!!! (Keep laughing)

Whahaha, i think im seriously crazy… Totally forgot abt my stand.

Waiting forward to this Saturday for the Zoo trip and next week for the most exciting June Date with the bf!!!

Overall has been a good month. I had good birthday celebration with my lovables… Get many many wishes and pressies… Had mini Bday surprises from the office…

As for work, i have improved myself by a little, i guessed. Need to JIA you Jia YOUuuuu……. Hurrrr…. TELEmartttttttttttt…………

Today is a happy day because i found a coursemate a new job at a good firm! Ms. Coursemate had been the best project mate ever, because of the Surname that we had, we had been grouped to do big and small projects and assignments tgt thru out the 3 yrs in School. She wouldn’t know how anxious and nervous i am everytime she goes for interviews, Probably as "gan cheong" as her? Over the weekends keep preying that she will take up this opportunity, in fact its kinda good chance to explore a new area at work. Luckily she did.

I hate it when i saw The Bf’s schedule for June. Hurrr…………. Shall keep all Fridays booked for him, seemed like thr is no weekend for us to spend tgt this June.

.

But still….. Thr are a few things to look forward to this June. Company trip to the Zoo on the 21st, Singapore Flyer Date with the Bf, Pay Day!!! WAHAHahahahaha…..

It has been a month since i started work:)

Overall has been good, time flies compared to the previous job whr i counted by seconds and minutes for lunch and to knock off. Colleagues are fun and helpful. Job scope is interseting too. But thr is sales target to be met The only thing that im worry at. With target means i have to source for my own clients and get orders… Haven really get the hang of it yet.

.

Have been sitting side by side with leechin at work. That brings back memories of us in school. BOth of us agreed that we felt wierd initially. Even till now, sometimes it juz feel so funny to work with leechin and even to share table with her. Secondary school days has been over, for eh, 4 to 5 years? We always meet up for shopping, dinners and everything fun, but now, i see her more than 12 hours a day for work. We discuss and help each other with orders at work. But im happy cos she has been a really good fren, and now, a helpful colleague of mine:) THanks WONG LycHee!!!

REcently i heard that one of the aunty from Mcdonalds suffered from a slight stroke. I first read it from one the crew’s blog post, then i checked with ah mui. I felt so sad abt it. Last week went dinner with the bf, and that aunty called me. I couldnt recognise her voice over the phone, She thanked me for giving her money together with the Mcd people. For a moment i felt guilty cos’ i dun even remember i did tt. The bf has actually chipped in with the rest including my name, thats why aunty called to thk me. I was informed abt it, but i totally cant recall that i heard abt it from the bf, im seriously a big Dory! ANyway, yup, i guessed she is much better now, but i felt like crying while i talked to her. She told me, she couldnt believe that this had happened to her, and she cant eat nor slp and kept thinking abt it. :(  I used to love arguing with her, but now she cant even express her words fluently. Fortunately its a phone conversation with her, its easier for me to cheer her up on the phone instead of face to face. Get well Soon.

Another 12 hrs, i’ll be in my new office. End of my rotten daysss….

Today went down to my new workplace to sign the employment letter. Was informed that i have to bring along a blazor or a formal jacket, n no slip-on heels allowed. Hurrr~~~

So after getting a new blazor (made me feel a little excited for work now, cos i can wear new clothes, and skirt! hehehe), took a long bus trip home. Had a lot of random thots, i lov bus trips, long ones… Erm, and alone… Thats when i stone and dun feel like im wasting any of my time. The bad thing abt now is, my hp was faulty, so i cant play music. 45 mins bus trip is like nv ending without ear piece plugged into my ears.

Did u notice thr are so so so many different road signs and road names in Sg? I like looking at them, some of the road names are very interesting. Thr muz be some history behind them, especially those called after someone’s name?

Hurr… Yeah, the bus took big rounds, n this stupid Suntec Tower 1 appeared right in front of me again. Yes, my new work place. Its just the tower next to my old work place, Tower 2. Suntec………..

Thr are rows of trees along the roadsides. Some are really giant! I started wondering, how long the trees took to grow up that hugh? Isnt it quite a horrible place to be rooted? Along the roads, millions of vehicles passed by them everyday, the air they take in, all polluted n dusty. If im on of them, i might be complaining that lifes unfair afterall. Being rooted in national parks, or even botanic gardens wld be a much better place to live, no? (Hurr… I know i dun make sense here, but thats the fun part abt day dreaming…)

This littel boy was really sleepy. He dosed off and keep knocking his head on the glass window, then wake up, but another second, he doses off again, n knocked his head again. Repeatedly for the whole bus ride…

.

Any kind souls pls tell me, if this is the mimosa plant? Anyway, b4, i get answers that says its not, i assumed it is. So i was looking at them, n remembered me n Xiao Li aka Wendy Yap, once went to the Bedok reservoir, to chat, n take pictures… (My sch is juz a gate away from the reservoir) Xiao Li even took a video of the mimosa plants, the leaves close when we touched them. Miss ya, ah Li!!!

Ah!!! Cannot forget to note this down! I wanna complain!!! To Xiao WEi, and Xiao Li! Tmr is April’s fool and its my first day of work! I already signed on the employment letter, so ur curse that im being tricked on April’s Fool Day is OVER!!!! (Actually , i really quite scared leh, u two, evil porks!!!)

!In a few days time , my 2 months of unemployment shall end. No more rotten potato on the sofa!

Im 65% happy cos’ i found a new job:) Which means no more surfing of jobstreet, jobsdb, jobscentral, no more interviews n waiting of phonecalls n letters. Hurr, 35% of cant be explained feelings. A mixture of SIAN-ess, unwillingness, fear. Will be back to the working life! ARGHHhhhhhhhhhhhh……….. Who likes to work right?

Anyway, this time round, no more lawfirms. Ok, just a summary of the 2 months changes in Job hunting:) Initially, was waiting for the MOE’s letter. As usual, they are LATE. Supposed to let me know if im accepted within 3 working weeks, so, after opening my letter box for many times within the third expected week, i gave up waiting. The letter of acceptance came in on the last day of the fifth week. By then i have already send out resumes to lawfirms for interview. Maybe its a blessing that the letter came to me late. After the third week, i seriousy thot, its not worth to join MOE now. They offered me 1 to 1.5yrs of contract teaching, then enter their 2 yrs training in July 2009, after the training, i need to serve my 3 yrs bonds with them. Adding up, i will be them for 6 yrs at least. Not very ideal. REject.

Anyway, yup, so i went for interviews at 2 lawfirms, and then came across this oppotunity of  HR recruitment job at my little dear fren’s company. After thinking for a while, the jobscope is kinda interesting, maybe its good for me to give it a try. And i always thought, going to an interview doesnt mean i will get it , so no harm sending in my resume right:) Yup, then went for interview, personality test, n waited for phonecall till today. I was thinking, hurr, the office operating hrs from 8.30am to 5.30pm, i havent rec’ any calls at 5.35pm. Ok, maybe i shd start sending out resumes again..

Strange no.: "Hello can i speak to maybelline pls?"

Me: "Hello, yep?"

Strange No.: "MAYBELLINE YEO!" (In an excited tone)

Me: "Oh, WONG LEECHIN AH!!! " (In an even more excited tone)

Leechin: "HA-nah! (Very singlish accent) Then u thot who?"

Leechin: "Heh, L****’s offering u the position, can you come down to sign the employment letter!"

Wahaha… Yesh, pple, u can congrat me, i’m being employed again, after rotting for 2 months. Hmmm… SO i muz continue rot to the max for saturday, sunday and monday! Tuesday will be a new start for me:) I dun noe, maybe after resting n having much thot, i feel, i will work even harder in my new job, and of cos’ to enjoy more in my work! Im sure it will be a better one than the previous, at least i believe so, for a start:)

I slpt at 5am this morning, n woke up at 8am. I had a hard time falling aslp but easily awake by the irritating buzz of my mum’s fan next door.

.

I blamed it on my pillow, since its like, flat at one side, totally flat n hard. And then i blamed that my air-con isnt cooling, tho i insisted having the blankets over my head. Then i blamed the light that shone outside my window, hurr, but its juz a tiny gap between the curtains n the window n i claimed that thrs a lot of light shining in.

Decided to wake up before i whine non-stop, to myself.

.

With a clearer mind, i recalled, i didnt want to take cold drinks last night at Jiajia’s wedding, so i had quite a lot of CHINESE TEA throughout the night!

.

So the main reason for all the above grumblings shd be TEA.

.

I didnt have this problem all along, until recently. I reaslised if i take tea, which includes, teh peng, chinese tea, maybe ice lemon tea, after 7pm, I couldnt slp at night!!! Coffee is definately a killer.

.

Coffee. No matter what time i drank kopi, i feel my heartbeat pumping fast, n i cant seemed to breathe properly.

.

This only occur recently.

.

Anyway, i only slpt for 3 hrs last night. I hate Chinese Tea.

Had a great Night out with the Rwwians, tho 5 outta 6 of us is non-Rww members anymore!!! Cheerios!!! Went to Changi Village for late dinner. Hmmm, the FIsh n Chips didnt turn out very tasty, but its quite a good place to chill out. Nice drinks, and the most important thing is, we can talk and laugh very loudly! Buaahaha, ok, cos i dun really have very impressive table manner!

I love it when we sit tgt and update our lives with one another. Listens to Dora, the only spy in RWW, complained abt deathphony, telling us how she actually irritates her boss, how Preggy got snapped by Mr. Nice Lawyer(hmmm, most pple think he is nice, im juz following the crowd)! WenXiu telling us her brother couldnt flush his poopoo down the toilet bowl but still left house, n then calling her on the phone to flush the poos again, emphasizing the hugh piece of shit floating in the toilet bowl. Cake sharing her farting aloud colleague! I think farts, shits n all the disgusting bits are the most entertaining to crap abt!!! All of us have a tiny part to share when it comes to the gross things.

Hmmm… Its Easter Day today! Nothing ve important tho… Oh, ok, i did craft work on Bunny EAster Egg with the little monsters last thursday. Turned out, a lot of the bunnies looked more like hamsters, and the monsters insisted they are drawing bunnies, well… I juz love them to bitss….

Ok, apart from that, i realised some of the kids really improved in their drawings, i felt really Happy!!! In the beginning, they dun even remember my name, now, they come to me with big round eyes filled with curiosity, "Ms. Yeo, how do u do this? Do i use the light colour first, then the dark over it n blend them tgt to get this?" They used to do colour tones by bisecting the pictures or the parts they wanna colour into two, and then insert two different colours. Thats toning??? I guessed not. Anyway, im happy to have this part time job, more like a hobby to me:)

Attending my ex-colleague’s wedding dinner tonight! CONGRATUATIONS JIA JIA!!! (I have yet to decide what to wear for tonight.)

She was with me for near to a yr….. No one agered that she is a jelly fish. Said she was a monster, a mushroom with legs…. So i named her Ms Jelly Fish. Hurr… I dun noe, i felt a little upset when her legs broke off a few days ago, so i amputated her broken leg off this morning. Today on the way home, the whole jelly fish dropped off my hp!!!
